For a Truck with a topper you may want to look into a Van or Suv cover that will fall properly over the rear of the truck with the extra space

Depends. Outdoors you need a waterproof, UV resisting, washable, mildew proof cover.
Also Houston has lots of bugs to chew at the cover.
I'd go with the high end 4 season covers of Evolution.
