This system will not work, as it is a wireless feed to the monitor that is included. his radio will more than likely use a wired camera from the back of the truck.

Mine works fine with my back up lights on.
I guess it just depends on the brightness of your backup lights and their location to your camera.
Hope this helps!

You can't add an antenna to the camera, BUT this system actually gives you the choice of wiring it together (with an Extra Cable) to acheive a greater distance (up to 100') plus a CLEAR Picture all of the time.
Hope this info. helps!

Yes, if you powered it from a dashboard switch instead of from the backup lights, but I suspect if it were run for long hours it would 'burn out'.
It likely was not designed for long term continuous operation.

Question
Expected Distance of Transmiter to receiver
PRODUCT # ZX298792
I have a trailer that I would like to use this product on.
From the back of the trailer (where the camera would be mounted to the Dash of my truck is a distance of roughly 36 feet.
Since it is a metal covered camping trailer what is the "EXPECTED DISTANCE the transmiter will transmit to the receiver? If it's less than 36' then it will not work for my application.
Thanks,
Allan
PS If I had the box or book on it, I'm sure it is listed there.

Looks like one I purchased in Canada last year. See:

No distance given but there is a 1-800 number to call. I would think you could extend the short antenna wire if need be.
