how would i install this, is it just a weld after the removal of the previous muffler?

Yeah just remove the stock muffler, use alot of PB blaster to cut threw the rust if it has rust on the clamp...once you get the clamp off just clean up the end of the pipe alittle and slide this one on you can clamp or weld
