As this is a universal item you are going to need to fabricate it to fit your tank.

Will this gauge kit work on a diesel tank?
I have a 45 gallon diesel tank on my boat, but it's only 24" deep. It has a very old sending unit now that doesn't work, but the opening is the right size. It is a 12 volt negative ground electrical system.

as long as its a 12 volt negative ground electrical system i don't see any problem with using it with that diesel

the mounting plate is 2 3/4" in diameter, with the holes 1 1\4" hole to hole & 2" diaginaly apart
