Does this system work when mounted on a side wall
I was wondering if this device would work mounted on a side wall and give you an indication when the bumper passes a certain point as you drive in or back in?

You could mount it on the sidewall and as soon as the bumper was in range it would light up. It adjusts sensitivity from 16 inches to 16 feet.
