I think it would fit nicely behind your hanger hooks... In fact, it might be a Purrrfect fit just above the rear window of your vehicle. The contour of the Dodge looks to be ideal for this speaker system to sound as if it was stock for the vehicle. The "wings" at each end are somewhat flexible, yet sturdy enough to support the entire unit. The "wings" can also be trimmed, if necessary. Read my Review and you'll see what I did about the excessive span I encountered with my '69 F-250. If you're ceiling is 48"+ from side-trim to side-trim (measure the headliner to the inside edges of the plastic trims), you will have to expand the bridge in the middle. The wiring that came with the system was perfect for my application; however, the extended cab might need a bit longer wire - be prepared to extend it a few feet.

It would be wide enough to fit, but I am not certain that it would be a good addition to your vehicle. It requires a trim piece on each side to tuck the "wings" into for support. Each speaker side is made of steel and the entire unit is 5-7 pounds. I would hate to see that fall on your head while driving!
I just not familiar with the Samurai's interior well enough to give you an honest opinion.
