Will I have to buy any additional linkages? Will I have to do any major modification, other than a hole in the floorboard?

No. I also have a 66 c10 chevy, and have installed this product with only the parts included in kit. How ever I would rather have a 3 on the tree than 3 on the floor, but thats my personal peference. Good luck on the instal.
